Gibbs entropy from entanglement in electric quenches

چکیده

In quantum electrodynamics with charged fermions, a background electric field is the source of chiral anomaly which creates chirally imbalanced state fermions. This realized through production entangled pairs right-moving fermions and left-moving antifermions (or vice versa, depending on orientation field). Here we show that statistical Gibbs entropy associated these equal to entanglement between particles antiparticles. We then derive an asymptotic expansion for in terms cumulants multiplicity distribution produced explain how re-sum this expansion. Finally, study time dependence specific time-dependent pulsed field, so-called "Sauter pulse", illustrate our resummation method works case. also find short pulses (such as ones created by high energy collisions) result approximately thermal particles.

Evolution of holographic entanglement entropy after thermal and electromagnetic quenches

We study the evolution and scaling of the entanglement entropy after two types of quenches for a 2 + 1 field theory, using a conjectured holographic technique for its computation. We study a thermal quench, dual to the addition of a shell of uncharged matter to four-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS4) spacetime, and study the subsequent formation of a Schwarzschild black hole. We also study an el...

Measuring entanglement using quantum quenches.

We show that block entanglement entropies in one-dimensional systems close to a quantum critical point can, in principle, be measured in terms of the population of low-lying energy levels following a certain type of local quantum quench.

A Characterization of the Entropy--Gibbs Transformations

Let h be a finite dimensional complex Hilbert space, b(h)+ be the set of all positive semi-definite operators on h and Phi is a (not necessarily linear) unital map of B(H) + preserving the Entropy-Gibbs transformation. Then there exists either a unitary or an anti-unitary operator U on H such that Phi(A) = UAU* for any B(H) +. Thermodynamics, a branch of physics that is concerned with the study...

Gibbs Entropy and Irreversibility

This contribution is dedicated to dilucidating the role of the Gibbs entropy in the discussion of the emergence of irreversibility in the macroscopic world from the microscopic level. By using an extension of the Onsager theory to the phase space we obtain a generalization of the Liouville equation describing the evolution of the distribution vector in the form of a master equation. This formal...
